Communicating With Your Basic And High Self
Want more conscious communication with your basic self and high self? Me too. Communication between levels simply takes some education and then practice. The funny thing is your basic self and high self are always in touch. They are more similar than different, cut from the same cloth, subconscious and unconscious, similar.
The conscious self really is an island. It is bound by sequential time and space. It is by far the most isolated of the three selves. This is what philosophers of the 1700s a& 1800s realized--but they took it too far and forgot altogether about the two other parts of the human psyche, the parts who are not bound by either time or space. The conscious self can get in on the conversation between b/s and h/s, but it takes desire, willingness and practice.
The conscious self is the most isolated of the three selves
This is by design because the c/s represents the soul here in 3D life. The c/s is the stand-in for the soul. If the soul was here all the time in person--it would burn out the physical body.
The soul naturally stands outside of creation, outside of all conditioned energies, like, body, emotion, and Mind. The soul is free of any conditioning. That's what makes it a soul!
In order for it--and you--to KNOW this is true, here in the confusing mish-mash of highly conditioned 3D life, the c/s has to have the possibility of objectivity, being IN but NOT OF the chaos of 3D experience The isolated c/s has fewer distractions. This enables the c/s to do its job better: making healthy choices; that is, doing the right action, at the right time, with the right person. It's a big job and lack of distractions helps a lot.
You really do have two minds!
Telling people they have two minds, a cerebral nervous system AND an enteric "gut" brain, was the major blind spot of 20th century psychology and education. It's very much time to remedy this with new psychology from the only place I know where a stable model of the three selves exists, from Hawaiian mysticism, from Huna. The Three Selves is the Western version of the original form. The original form requires everyone learn the native Hawaiian language. The Western Three Selves does not.
The basic self goes by many names
The basic self is functionally equal to the inner child, our immune system, our sub- and unconscious, our etheric body, the Little Artist of The Artist's Way, the 'habit body' (habits and routine behaviors on all levels), our reactive self, and our 'memory body.' Why? Because what works to contact, communicate and negotiate with them, from the conscious self point of view, is exactly the same. The above is a list of equivalencies for the basic self. There may even be more names! The multiplicity of the basic self is part of its character as an etheric being.
3S as the three ages of man
The young child, three to seven years old, is "poetry" for the basic self. The young child is converged and identified with the physical body, feels more and thinks less (thinks more dimly) than the conscious self, the adult. The young child is given up to the Oneness of its experience.
The adult, age 18 or older, is "poetry" for the conscious self. The c/s is the function of clear light-of-day rational thinking. Feelings are a rational way to evaluate and make decisions. Thinking is another rational way to evaluate and make decisions.
The unconditionally accepting grandmother or grandfather, wise with age, already reunited with Spirit, is "poetry" for the high self. Because healthy elders have expanded and relaxed their psyche and can embrace an expanded range of consciousness, the wise grandmother or grandfather understand all three ages, child, adult and other elders. Healthy elders are no longer slaves to the isolation of left brain sequential logic.
