Mysticism or Maya?
Every major religion has their more esoteric, Kingdom within, segments. They seem to always be in the minority; however, having been a member of each camp, I think I'll stick with the mystics and let the external oriented believers have their own party. We're suffering not so much from the Mayan prophecies as we are the MAYA (illusion) of external religion.
There is but ONE Consciousness, ONE God!
Whatever a religion or group of believers choose to call the ONE, it matters not. Call the ONE Atman as the Hindu, the Inner Light as the Quakers, No-self as the Buddhist do or the Holy Spirit as most Christians, it's the SAME one and only Creator over all. The diversity within unity doesn't deny the mystical realities. Read what the mystics from various religions has said and experienced.
>Hui-Neng, an illiterate Zen Buddhist said, "Our very self nature is Buddha, and apart from his nature there is no other Buddha."
>Moses de Leon, a Kabbalist mystic said, "God is the complete unfolding of His Being, Bliss, and Love in which he becomes capable of being perceived by the reasons of the heart....is called you."
>Monsoor al-Halaj, a Sufi mystic proclaimed, "I am the Truth."
>Tantric Buddhist Padmasambhava said, "When you finally discover me, the one naked truth arisen from within, Absolute awareness permeates the universe"
>Christian mystic, Catherine Adorna of Genoa said, "My being is God, not by simple participation, but by a true transformation of my being."
>Meister Eckhart said, "I receive that I and God are One.
>Jesus said, "My father and I are one."
How does one explain these concepts without being them? These are not illusions of people with psychological abnormalities. The Hindu mantra, neti neti (not this, not that) is not some unfathomable expression, but the reality of one having experienced ONENESS as most mystics eventually come to know.
I am so thankful that I was not locked into the maya of external religion and that the self righteous opinions, doctrines, and bias that I once had are melting away. How much more ice remains I am sure that His LOVE will eventually melt.
Are you feeling warmer? :-)
As a spiritual-futurist, I have a BA degree majoring in history. One cannot know the future without knowing the past which holds clues to what is on the horizon. The world is in such a rapid expansion of knowledge that we are close to entering a tipping point that will forever change earth as we know it.
